Why Does Karma Coffee Support The Salvation Army?

Many of you have been asking Karma Coffee about our fondness and support of The Salvation Army. So this, our second blog, will deal with that.

First of all, we believe that The Salvation Army does such good work and they have done so for over 150 years. It was founded by William Booth who embarked upon his ministerial career in 1852, desiring to win the lost multitudes of England to Christ. He walked the streets of London to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor, the homeless, the hungry, and the destitute.

Since those early beginnings, The Salvation Army has evolved and expanded to include shelters and food banks all over the world. They house the homeless and feed the hungry who can't afford to do so themselves. But it doesn't end there, they have youth programs, seniors programs, disaster relief programs, etc. The list just goes on and on with the wonderful work they do.

What impresses us most about this world-wide organization is that when you or Karma Coffee make a financial contribution, the majority of it goes where we hope it will: TO HELP THOSE IN NEED! The majority doesn't go to pay salaries and overheads as it does with so many other 'charitable organizations'. But don't take our word for it, check it out for yourself.

So, we make donations to The Salvation Army in many different ways:
1) We donate a portion of our profits from every bag of Karma Coffee we sell.
2) When we do public and community events where we serve our Karma Coffee, we raise money for The Salvation Army, rather than selling Karma Coffee for our own profit.
3) We regularly donate our coffee to our local Salvation Army Food Bank and Soup Kitchen.
4) Every time someone goes to our Karma Coffee (And Karma Coffee House) Facebook page and Likes us, we increase our financial donation.

If you are like us and share our concern for the homeless, the hungry and those in need, we invite you to LIKE us when you visit our Facebook page. We'll do the rest.

So that's it for this time.

All the best,

Jak Axe
